6/126 Beech House


Farmhouse of two building periods. Double pile early C17
timber-framed and plastered ranges with gables to the street
with later C17 red brick wing to the east with hipped roof; all
roofs plain tiled. Two storeys. End stack to east, ridge stack
and side stack to west. Three first floor hung sash windows
with glazing bars, and two canted bays with flat roofs and hung
sash windows with glazing bars flank central six panelled door
with flat canopy. Five casement, and fixed light windows to
east wing. Stair turret to rear. Interior has boxed and
exposed ceiling beams, panelled C18 and C19 doors, good pine
kitchen door, two sealed inglenook hearths, one in kitchen with
baking oven, cupboard above and staircase in original position.
Small powder-cupboard in bedroom. Carved wooden panel above
kitchen window.
