6.1.66 The Old Rectory (formerly
listed as House opposite
West End of Church)

GV II

Large detached house; 1774 and C19. Coursed limestone rubble, fish-scale roof
tiling. In two stages of building forming an L-plan with further one and
two-storey extensions to the north. Towards church is 2 storeys and attic, 3+1
windows, mainly 4-pane sash, but a 2-light glazing bar casement at first floor,
and ground floor, right is a 2-light leaded opening brought to pavement level.
Right returns, to north, has 4 small 2-light casements with leading, to wood
lintels, below a large tripartite 4:12:4-pane sash plus 3-light leaded casement;
2 hipped 2-light dormers. Entrance door within the 'L'. To right a one storey
later wing. Hipped return. Three brick ridge stacks. Two storey extensions to
north west not of special interest.
