II
Detached cottage. Late C17, extended c1700. Chalk and limestone
rubble, half-hipped thatched roof with brick stack, formerly to
gable end of late C17 build. Gable end to road. Single-storey and
attic, 2-window. Planked door to left, two 2-light casements to
right, C20 porch and door with C20 extension in similar style to
right. Two eyebrow dormers with 2-light casements. Left return
has two 2-light casements to ground floor and one to attic. Rear
has 2-light casements to ground floor and to eyebrow dormers,
blocked doorway.
Interior has two open fireplaces, centre one retains chamfered
lintel on stone jambs, chamfered beams. Originally single-cell
late C17 cottage, one-bay addition to west end shortly afterwards.
