Bridge. 1793. By John Carr of York. Rubble and ashlar. 3 segmental
arches of ashlar voussoirs, flanked by pilasters of chamfered rustication,
which changes to ashlar above the band. Segmental ashlar coping. Parapets
terminate in ashlar bollards. Triangular cutwaters to upstream side only.

Inside upstream parapet, stone inscribed "N R" with bench-mark. Partly in
the parish of Low Abbotside. York Georgian Society, The Works in Architecture
