House at end of row, returning to New Street. Early to mid
C19. Rendered, slate gable roof. Probably built at same time
as No.18 (qv), adjoining, with roof restructured.
3 storeys, attic and basement, 1 window. A large flat-roofed
4-pane sash half-dormer above a small 2-light casement in
plain reveal, with a C19 cast-iron balcony, and a sill band,
above a bow oriel with 8:12:8-pane sash to a dentil cornice.
Ground floor C19 shop front is in 3 tall panes with very
slender glazing bars, returned at the ends, and with a wide
glazed door set back to the left, all to a moulded cornice and
fascia. The left gable is stopped to rendered crow-steps, and
there is a brick stack to the right. The plain back is in
unrendered brick in English garden wall bond, and it is set at
a slight angle to the adjoining property.
