Built in 1883 to commemorate the visit to Bradford of the then Prince and Princess
of Wales (Edward and Alexandra). Castellated gatehouse of sandstone "brick" with
ashlar dressings. Octagonal flanking turrets. Large pointed archway. Central
canopied niche flanked by cusped headed drip moulded windows. Machicollated
balcony. Parapet decorated with roses and Prince of Wales feathers. The interior
of archway has a ribbed vault. Rear elevation to park has a crow stepped gable and
corner buttresses.
