Formerly office and warehouse premises. Circa 1880. Ashlar. Slate roof. 3 storeys and basement with moulded string between 1st and 2nd floors. On corner site. 7 bay rounded facade with single gabled bay to left. The latter breaks forward and has open round arched porch with red granite columns with very elaborately carved capitals with foliage and sheep's head. Cornice is richly carved with foliage. Keystone has carved bust. Paired window to 1st floor and triple group to 2nd floor with pilaster surrounds and mullions with foliated capitals, round arched heads. Elaborately carved frieze and cornice over and in gable pediment is shield held by 2 sitting figures. Gable is surmounted by squatting dog. The 6 bays to right comprise round arched ground floor windows with nook shafted jambs and carved voussoirs. Each large keystone has carved animal or bird including monkey, owl, eagle and macaw. lst floor windows are square headed with decorated frieze at impost level. The 2nd floor windows form a continuous range of square headed lights with impost band. Decorative cornice over with perforated parapet. To right is round angle turret to 1st and 2nd floors, with windows detailed as gable bay to left. Conical roof and richly carved under- side. Round arched window below has keystone with carved bat. Right return elevation of 3 bays with plain treatment.
