House, now 2 shops and office. Late C16 or early C17, altered. Timber
frame, scored stucco, and render probably over stone, stone slate roof.
Three units with a short but broad gabled wing to the rear of the left half
(Nos. 36 and 34); later additions to rear of No. 32 of less interest, Two
low storeys: plinth, coved eaves; 3 inserted doors and 3 square shop windows
with simple architraves, irregularly disposed, a sashed window at the
right-hand end, and 3 square windows above. Chimney on ridge and at
right-hand end. Rear: gabled part has 2 doors and 3 windows, irregularly
disposed.

Interior: No. 36 (left end) has unusually fine moulded plaster decoration on
both floors: ground floor front has ceiling of geometrical panels containing
vigorously twined foliations with fruit, with clusters of fruit in the
interstices, and moulded and decorated frieze, especially over the chimney
breast; in small back kitchen a large diamond-shaped panel containing a
smaller one which frames a decorated shield, the outer border having hearts
in the corners and winged animals with urns along the sides; at 1st floor, in
a small rear room, a deep frieze of Jacobean design with pomegranates.

History said to have been manor house.
