9/21 Magnolia Cottage

II

Cottage. Late C16 rebuilt C18 and extended C19. Part vitreous brick with
red vertical strips, part timber framed to gable ends with painted render
infill, old tile gabled roof. Parallel ridge plan with C19 extension at rear.
2 storeys, central chimney on ridge. Road front:- brick plinth, first floor
string, offset, and dentil eaves, red brick quoins and window dressings.
3 bays, the outer C20 leaded casements, small C19 central plain casement
window over 4-panelled entrance door in C19 gabled porch; Ground floor
windows either side of porch similar below those on 1st floor. Interior:-
queen post roof trusses, part re-built C18 but with some smoke blackened
rafters remaining.
