Farmhouse 1685, altered, and attached shippon, late C18. Irregular
bond brown brick with stone dressings; grey slate roofs, probably
later. Two brick chimneys, with separated rectangular flues, on ridge
of house roof. Two storeys with five bay front a:b:c:b:a. with
central 2-storey gabled porch and large projecting gables at each end.
The shaped and pedimented gables have reverse scroll copings of stone.
Mid C19 iron casements in mullioned timber sub-frames, near flush,
with small rectangular panes to front and end gable, left; interlaced
Gothick heads to rear. Semi-hexagon bay window to rear with hipped
roof of shaped slates with lead rolls. Back door of 6 flush beaded
panels with plain rectangular fanlight (the front door is a
half-glazed C20 replacement); later open timber framed gabled porch,
after John Douglas. Datestone removed since Provisional List was
compiled in 1960. Interior not inspected.
Two storey shippon, attached to farmhouse, of brick with slate roof.
Camber arched openings; sandstone hinge blocks; boarded doors;
diabolo-shaped vents to hayloft.
