Former Bonny Grove Farmhouse
(Formerly listed as Bonny Grove Farmhouse, BRASS CASTLE LANE north side (off))
Farmhouse, mid-to-late-C18, and slightly later farm cottage adjoining at left with early-C19 rear extension. Previously converted to one house, returned to two houses early in the C21. Brick with pebbledash. Clay pantile roof, with earlier replacement plain clay tile gable copings now replaced by stone copings. Stone ridge copings to both houses. Farmhouse (8a) of two storeys and three bays. Central Victorian six-panel door. Renewed sash windows in original openings. Late-C19 sash window inserted right of door. Rendered end stacks. One-storey cottage with loft (8b) has renewed sash windows and door, and a rendered ridge stack. Early-C21 glass-roofed verandah to front. Mid-C20 brick battered buttress at left end. Former boarded loft door in left return replaced by glazing early in C21. One-storey rear outshut under two catslide roofs.
INTERIOR: farmhouse has early-C19 dogleg staircase with moulded handrail, stick balusters and plain newel, in 1988 concealed by panelling. Cottage has altered inglenook fireplace with heck partition.
