Farmhouse. Early-mid C19, with alterations of later C19 and some C20 alterations.
Slatestone rubble with Pentewan stone dressings and quoins. Hipped slurried scantle
slate roof with ridge tiles. Axial stack with rendered shaft.
Plan: Double depth plan, with central entrance and principal room to front right;
there is a second principal room to rear right facing the garden front at the right
side. There is a small service room to front left and the stair hall to left centre;
to rear left is a one-room plan kitchen wing heated from a gable end stack to rear.
Exterior: 2 storeys, symmetrical 3-window front. Central C20 door with overlight
and left C19 gabled hood on brackets. At first floor there are three C19 16-pane
sashes with cambered stone arches with keystones. At the left side there is a C20
lean-to porch with 8-panelled C19 inner door; at ground floor to right a C19 16-pane
sash. First floor has central C19 20-pane sash lighting the stair. The service wing
is to left, 2-storey, with C20 window at ground and first floor and C20 plank door.
This has a blind gable end. The right side is the garden front, with two C19 16-pane
sashes at ground floor and one central 16-pane sash at first floor, all with cambered
stone arches with keystones. At the rear there are two C19 16-pane sashes at ground
and first floor with cambered stone arches with keystones.
Interior: Not inspected, but may retain good features of the C19 such as staircase
and joinery details.
