Pair of lodge cottages, originally belonging to Ickwell Bury. Early C19, with
C20 reworkings and addition. Colourwashed roughcast render, No. 25 retaining
original slender timber framing, No. 27 rebuilt in brick. Slate roofs, hipped
to facing elevations. 2 single-storeyed square blocks with entrances facing
each other, now linked by C20 block. Entrance fronts each have ogee headed
central doorway. No. 25 retains original door with 2 ogee headed panels. 2
flanking casements have 2 pointed-arched leaded lights under ogee heads.
Window and door heads all have fleur-de-lys at apex. Road elevations each
have 2 similar ogee-headed windows but without fleur-de-lys decoration.
Double central ridge stack to each block.
