House. Circa mid - late C18, with alterations and additions of C19 and few later
alterations. Granite and elvan rubble, rendered at first floor above the band
course. Asbestos slate roof with ridge tiles, gable end to left and hipped at the
right end. Stack with brick shaft at the left end and to rear right.
Plan: Double depth plan with central entrance; the house faces north with the
principal room to front left and right; there is a back entrance from the road at the
right side to rear. Addition of C19 to rear left, heated from an axial stack.
Exterior: 2 storeys, symmetrical 3-window front with modillion cornice continued
around the right side. First floor has three C18 12-pane sashes in exposed boxes.
Ground floor has central C18 doorcase with pediment on consoles over C18 panelled
door with pilasters and fanlight with radial glazing bars. Internal porch with inner
panelled and margin-glazed door of C19. 12-pane sash with voussoirs to right and
left. Right side has two 12-pane sashes at ground and first floor as on front; to
right a 4-panelled door with overlight, pilasters and cornice. Left side slate-hung
and painted; two hipped end roofs over the 2-storey C19 addition. First floor left a
16-pane sash in exposed box of C19, first floor right a 4-pane light at ground floor.
Porch with pitched roof to left.
