ST LEVAN PORTHGWARRA

Former boathouse and fisherman's stores. Upper floor now converted to living
accommodation. Circa early C19. Granite rubble with granite dressings. Asbestos
slate roof,with brick chimney over right-hand gable.
Plan: Rectangular plan of loft over probably boathouse. Built into a bank at the
front and on the left.
Exterior: Single storey over basement boathouse. 2 window south-west front with
doorways towards the left and right. 4-panel door with flush-beaded panels on the
left, C20 glazed door on the right. C20 12-pane horned sashes. Original openings to
all elevations. Basement opening on the right. Right-hand end has wide doorway and
2 windows above. Rear has small ventilator windows to basement and 3 small windows
to upper floor. There is a dressed granite string or ledge below the basement
windows, presumably a ledge under which to lodge cantilevered pilchard pressing
beams.
