NY 23 NE IREBY Longlands

12/125 Longlands Cottage
and adjoining barn

Farmhouse and barn. Dated and inscribed over rear entrance M.C. 1694 with C19
alterations. Roughcast walls on large projecting plinth stones, under slate
roof (Welsh to front, greenslate to rear) with roughcast chimney stacks. Barn
of mixed limestone and cobble rubble under C20 tile roof. 2 storeys, 2 bays
with lower barn to left. C20 windows in slightly enlarged C19 surrounds. 2
small original ground-floor windows; that to left is a fire window. Barn has
upper slit vents. Outshut to rear of house has one 2-light chamfered
stone-mullion window and 2 similar windows with mullions removed. Rear entrance
to right has original C17 studded and hinged plank door in chamfered surround
under dated lintel. Interior has inglenook with heck partition and firebeam.
Rear of barn has large cart entrance; smaller doorway to right and C19 casement
window.
