Retaining Wall with Flight of Steps at each side of central portion
(above shaped pond), 1911, by Detmar Blow for 2nd Duke of Westminster.
The grey stone recessed central portion is slightly curved with
balustrade and 2 ornate urns, behind the fountain pool. A straight
flight of stone steps to each side of the pool, each with fountain
statuary on the lower pedestal of its balustrade. Walls to the middle
terrace have 5 lion head spouts of stone in the retaining wall which
supply the pool. The pool has a shaped stone kerb. The wing walls
are of red sandstone.
The wall returns south of the terrace, listed separately (q.v.).
