Farmhouse probably mid C17 extended to rear early and late C20, and
altered. Gable-end to road of coursed red sandstone rubble, elsewhere
encased in bricks; thatched roof. 1 1/2 storeys, 2 windows to left part;
rear wing right of 1 window: the C17 portion in left part. Gable to
road has a 3-light recessed mullioned window to lower storey and a
weathered band of stone at first floor. Rebuilt ridge chimney opposite
doorway. 2 inserted dormers.
Interior: Lobby-entrance plan. Inglenook in left room has cambered
bevelled bressumer of oak on oak-framed sides and a small fire-window
(now facing the later rear room). A chamfered oak beam in each lower
front room; an altered full cruck frame between the 2 rooms. Stair
removed. Oak purlins in right bedroom; some unwrought oak rafters.
The early C20 rear wing had stair and upper storey added late C20.
