2/11 Higginsfield House

II

Former dowerhouse of Cholmondeley Estate, now private house. Early
C19. Whitened brick with slate roof. 2 storeys, 5 bays. Projecting
porch with deep frieze, cornice and lead covered flat roof supported
by pilasters and square built-up timber piers. This contains a wide
three-quarter glazed door with bead-and-flush lower panels,
wing-lights and overlight all with glazing bars. Recessed sashes and
tripartite windows with glazing bars, stone sills and wedge lintels.
Brick eaves band, wide boarded soffite, shallow-pitched roof with lead
hips. The west gable has near full width canted bay. The rear wing
(north) completes a "T" shaped plan.
