Vicarage. c1874-5 by John Douglas. Red English garden wall bond
brick with plain tile roof and timber framing to first floor. Two
storeys. Entrance front: Door to left of centre with timber porch
and single-light windows to sides. To right of this are two 4-light
windows with mullions and a single transom each and ovolo-moulded
surrounds, that at right projecting slightly. The jetty to the right
of the first floor is supported by wooden brackets resting on ashlar
corbels and has close-studded walling and a central 5-light casement
window with similar 4-light windows to either side. Above each is a
gable with chevron strutting. To the left of this is a section of
brick walling to both ground and first floors without timber framing
or an overhang. To the right of it is a chimney stack with offsets to
the left hand side. Garden front (rear): Canted bay at right with
2-light windows to centre and angles and timber framing to first
floor. To left of this is a C20 lean-to conservatory with a 5-light
staircase window above at first floor level with ovolo-moulded
surround. To left again is a projecting gabled bay containing the
service staircase with a 3-light ground floor window. Two
single-light first-floor windows and a timber-framed gable. The last
left-hand bay has 2 and 3-light C20 kitchen windows with 3-light
window to first floor.
