Barton House.

Barn, stable, wash-house and byre, c.1800. Coursed sandstone rubble with
quoins at angles and openings. Clay pantile roofs with stone ridge and
gable copings and block kneelers. "L"-plan range on 2 sides of yard; barn
on east side, stable and adjoining wash-house on south side; byre to north
of barn. Deep plinth; clay pipe breathers below eaves on east face of barn
fronting onto street. Yard elevation of barn has 2 stable doors with iron
strap hinges and 2 renewed fixed-light windows in original openings. Stable
has similar door at right and boarded double doors at left. Wash-house has
2 similar stable doors and similar window. Byre has 2 stable doors and a
boarded door on south face; Victorian posting box in north face. All
buildings have principal-rafter trusses. Farm buildings adjoining west side
of byre are too much altered to be of special interest. Formerly part of
Shrubberies Farm.
