Church of St Oswald

A Grade II* Listed Building in Guisborough, Redcar and Cleveland

Nave From Above In Tower Gallery

Uploader's Comments

The south doorway (right) is apparently a modern reproduction or restoration of the 12th-century opening. It is distant 7 ft. 6 in. from the west wall. The north doorway opposite is built up, but retains its ancient features. Externally it is very plain in character, with lintel, tympanum, and semicircular arch of nine voussoirs. The tower was built by Temple Moore in 1901. It houses a peel of tubular bells and provides a gallery within the church.
