Farmhouse, now house. Early C19 remodelling of late C17 house. Rendered over stone
rubble with some cob; gabled dry slate roof, with scantle slates to lower hipped roof on
left; C17 stack at junction between front and rear wings, and C19 right-end stack, both
rendered. L-plan, the principal elements including front range of 2 rooms with central
stairhall; small section set back to left remains from original house, which had front wall
demolished and brought forward for the remodelled house. Rear wing, also with C17
origins, has stair turret with gabled roof to left. Former outshut to rear right, with thick
(probably cob) walls heightened in C19. 2 storeys. 3-window front, with glazing bars
to tripartite sashes and late C20 door with chamfered posts to mid/late C19 porch. Late
C19 two-light casements to rear right. Interior: early C19 features include stick-baluster
staircase with turned newel, panelled doors set in moulded architraves, china cupboard
in ground-floor room to right and nailed A-frame trusses; lower bay to left has late C17
truss with tenoned apex. Wooden winder stair in rear wing. Other early features are
obscured by later work.
