Description

SX 35 NE SHEVIOCK GEORGES LANE, Sheviock

2/310 Garden walls and bee boles to rear
of Polwynnedd

GV II

Garden walls and bee boles. C18. Slatestone and sandstone rubble with brick
dressings and slate copings to walls. The walls run in an east/west range for about
7 metres, stepped forward at east end and continued for about 12 metres, continued at
an angle for about another 6 metres and returned in a north south range for about 15
metres. The bee boles are set in the first east/west range, facing south. The wall
is about 1 metre and 50 centimetres high in the first range, the rest at a height of
about 2 metres.
There are 8 boles, each about 50 centimetres wide and about 70 centimetres high, with
triangular heads and partitions in brick. Rendered curved backs and rendered
shelves.
There is a continuous slate string over the row of bee boles, and a slate coping to
this section of the wall.
The walls and bee boles were formerly part of the property of the Glebe House (q.v.).
