Coastguard boathouse. Now private house including retaining walls and quay. Circa
late C18. Painted stone rubble with slate roof with hipped ends. Rendered lateral
chimney stack on side elevation to the Warren and projecting and chimney stack with
rendered shaft. 2-room single depth plan originally with boat store on ground floor.
Entrance to boathouse in gable end and entrance to accommodation from The Warren.
2 storeys and attic to harbour and front elevation with single-storey elevation to
the Warren. Elevation to the Warren with partly glazed door. Asbestos slate-hung
C20 dormer. Slate steps lead down to front elevation. Wide timber lintel on ground
floor originally for opening for boat store. C20 window and partly glazed door both
with glazing bars inserted. Above C19 2-light casement with timber lintel and
smaller attic half-dormer with raking roof and 4-pane window.
Harbour elevation of 2 storeys and attic. Regular with 2 small 2-light casements
flanking larger 2-light casement on ground floor. Three 2-light casements on first
floor and raking roof attic dormers with 2-light casements. All windows with glazing
bars and timber lintels to ground and first floor windows.
Unaltered exteriors.
Interior not inspected.
Terrace area to front of house comprising small quay with further steps down to water
front. Stone rubble retaining wall to the Warren above and to the harbour.
