2 cottages now 1. Possibly mid C18. Painted rendered and plastered stone rubble and
possibly partly timber frame. Slate roof with gable ends with slightly lower roof to
left-hand range. Brick chimney stack between 2 ranges. Single depth plan. Built
into side of hill with single storey elevation to The Warren and 2-storey elevation
to the Harbour with the front wall originally rising from the stone rubble harbour
walls.
Harbour side in 2 ranges. Range on right-hand side with asymmetrical 3-window front.
The first floor is jettied out over the ground floor. Ground floor with two C20 2-
light casements and C20 door in porch to right. First floor with C20 double 2-light
casement on left and two C19 2-light casements to right. All with glazing bars.
Range to left on left-hand side with symmetrical 2-window front with C20 2-light
casements with glazing bars in openings which have been extended at base. 1 opening
in centre on ground floor and 2 above. C20 window openings on elevation to the
Warren.
Interior not inspected.
Included for group value.
A C20 balcony has been erected on the harbour side, cantilevered out on the ground
floor with C20 metal railings.
Photograph of the harbour at turn of the C19 illustrates Harbour Studio with a simple
regular 2-storey elevation to the harbour. The right-hand range has no window
openings on the ground floor and 2 regular 2-light casements in the jettied first
floor. In the left-hand range the pattern of fenestration is fairly unaltered.
