House, at one time house and carpenter's shop. Late C17/early C18 with late C20
rear extension. Whitewashed rendered cob on stone plinth, thatched roof, hipped at
left end, brick chimneys. Formerly probably 2 rooms and cross passage plan with
adjoining shop at left end with loft over. Present plan has stairs in passage,
carpenter's shop incorporated as part of house accommodation. House has 2-storey,
symmetrical 3-window front with C20 gabled porch. Ground floor windows timber
casements, 4 panes per light; first floor window three 2-light casements, 3 panes per
light. Separate entrance into former carpenter's shop; 2-light timber casement, 6
panes per light, to right of entrance. Ground floor room right has large fireplace
with ovolo-moulded fireplace beam and complex stops (fireplace formerly had cloam
oven), 2 cross beams and axial ceiling beams. Ground floor room to left of passage
has large fireplace with fireplace beam and cloam oven. Roof timbers in former shop
end pegged.
