House. Late C17/early C18, extended in C18. Timber framed, plastered, roofed
with handmade red clay tiles. 3 bays facing approx. E, with central stack
forming a lobby-entrance. C18 extension to rear, of red brick in Flemish bond,
with 2 parallel half-hipped gambrel roofs, of one storey with attics, and small
single-storey extension to left, of red brick of the same build, roofed with red
clay pantiles. C18/C19 extension to left of the main block, of one storey, with
end stack, originally external, later enclosed by small extensions at each
corner. Small C20 extension to rear of it, with flat roof. 2 storeys. Small
C20 extension to rear of it, with flat roof. 2 storeys with attics. Ground
floor, 2 C20 tripartite sashes. First floor, one early C19 sash of 16 lights
with some crown glass, one C20 replacement sash, and central early C19 sash of
12 lights with semi-circular head. Fielded 6-panel door, the top 2 panels
glazed, in pedimented porch much altered in C20. Roof half-hipped. The left
extension has exposed studding and C20 herringbone brick nogging, with one C20
sash and one more in a flat-roofed dormer. At rear, dentilled course below
eaves of half-hipped brick extensions. In left ground floor room, chamfered
transverse beam with lamb's tongue stops, and cast iron ducknest grate, c.1800.
2 C18 pine panelled doors with HL hinges. Above first floor, chamfered axial
beams with lamb's tongue stops. Face-halved and bladed scarf in rear wallplate.
Clasped purlin roof.
