Board school and school house with garden wall to front. 1875; by Silvanus Trevail. Local stone rubble with granite dressings and yellow brick dressings to openings. Steeply pitched slate roof with gable ends and pierced ridge tiles. Brick axial stacks.
Plan: Long range with a cross wing at either end, the left hand cross-wing contains the master's house. Gothic style. Exterior: 2 storey house and single storey school. Long range with a 2:3:2:3:2 bay front. At either end there is a projecting gabled cross-wing with diagonal buttresses and at the centre a small gabled centrepiece flanked by buttresses. The left hand cross-wing is the 2-storey master's house and has a pair of tall sashes on the ground and first floors, the first floor with pointed arch heads. The right hand cross-wing has tripartite lancets. The gabled centrepiece has a pair of lancets with a quatrefoil date panel in the gable above; to the left and right in the main range there are 2 sashes, and to the left a doorway to the master's house with a quatrefoil light above and to the right a similar doorway to the school. The window openings and doorways have shouldered heads.
Interior: not inspected.
C19 garden wall at front, of stone rubble with brick and granite dressings.
