4/182 Vicarage Cottage
House. Circa early C19, extended in circa mid C19. Slate stone rubble with brick
dressings. Slate roof with gable ends to front and rear of central range with
castellated parapets to the single storey front elevation of the flanking wings.
Slate roof with gable ends to the higher 2-storey ranges which are set back on right
and left. Brick side lateral stack on right.
Plan probably considerably altered. Possibly originally a 2-room double depth house
which was extended in circa mid C19 with 2 parallel 2-room double depth wings of
single storey on front and 2-storey on rear. Entrance in left hand side wall.
Front elevation particularly picturesque with 2-storey central range flanked by 2
single storey ranges with castellated parapets, the 2 storey wings set back on right
and left. Almost symmetrical single window front with central C19 centre hung 2-
light casement in 2-centred arched opening, probably originally a door. To right and
left are 2 tall round headed blind openings with two 1-light casements in 2-centred
arched openings in the flanking wings. First floor with central 2-light casement in
2-centred arched opening. On the first floor of the flanking 2-storey wings are 2-
light casements in 2-centred arched openings.
Interior largely remodelled in early C20.
Particularly picturesque front elevation in close proximity to Tintagel Vicarage
