8/17 Polgrean Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Circa early C19. Granite rubble with granite dressings. Scantle slate
roofs with brick chimneys over external stone stacks at the gable ends. Cast iron
ogee gutters.
Plan: Slightly irregular L-shaped 3 room plan plus later C19 lean-to at rear right
and C20 conservatory adjoining the left hand side. Parlour in the front left hand
wing; stair hall behind; kitchen behind the stair hall; another reception room far
right with the roof a right angles to the parlour and kitchen range and entrance hall
(with pantry behind) towards the angle.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Regular 1 and 2 window fronts at right angles to each other.
Doorway below left hand first floor window of 2 window front. C20 glazed door.
Original 16-pane horned sashes.
Interior: unaltered with most of the original carpentry and joinery including dog-leg
stair with stick balusters and mahogany handrail running over a turned newel post.
