Farmhouse, including front garden walls, gate-piers and gate. Early-mid C19.
Stuccoed front with rusticated granite dressings, otherwise granite rubble. Grouted
scantle slate half-hipped roof, except where replaced with asbestos slate at the
front. Brick chimneys over the side walls.
Plan: Double-depth rectangular plan plus dairy adjoining rear right-hand corner. 2
rooms at the front with parlour on the left and former kitchen/dining room on the
right with entrance hall between leading to stair hall between 2 rear rooms, back
parlour on the left and back kitchen on the right. Later C19 service wing on the
left.
Exterior: Symmetrical 3 window south-west front with central round-headed doorway.
C20 door with original traceried fanlight. Granite ashlar plinth; granite
rustications around doorway and rusticated granite quoins. Incised stucco. Original
12-pane hornless sashes.
Interior: Little altered interior with many original features including open-well
open-string stair; moulded and carved ceiling cornice and marble chimney-piece in
parlour and 6-panel doors.
Rectangular garden in front of the house is surrounded by granite rubble walls on 3
sides. Central gateway at the front where the walls return towards the house
flanking a flight of granite steps. Probably original wrought-iron gate.
