House and adjoining cottage (possibly formerly an outbuilding). C18, extended in the
C19. Granite rubble with granite dressings. Slurried scantle slate roofs with
original dressed granite stacks over the original gable ends and brick chimney over
the later left-hand gable end.
Plan: 2 rooms plus pantry plan house and later 1 room plan cottage adjoining at left.
The house has probably parlour, left, and wider kitchen, right with cross passage
between. Behind the middle and right hand side of the house is an integral shallow
outshut probably containing a stair of the rear of the passage and a small pantry
behind the kitchen. The cottage, left, has former loading doorway to the first floor
of the gable end.
Exterior: 2 storeys. House has nearly symmetrical 3 window north-west front with
doorway, left of middle. Ledged door, old 2-light casement to ground floor and C20
windows to first floor. The cottage, left, has doorway, left of middle, circa late
C19 4-pane horned sash, right of middle and window in reduced opening over.
Interior: not inspected.
Part of an unspoiled coastal hamlet set in the ancient field system of this part of
Cornwall.
