dovecote and former
barn to south of
Blaithwaite House

G.V. II

Former stable block, dovecote and former barn. Early or mid C19. Red sandstone
rubble with V-jointed and flush quoins. Graduated greenslate roofs. 2-storey
stable with single-storey extension at right-angles; former barn at
right-angles, with 2-storey dovecote in the angle, forming overall U-shape.
Former stable has plank door and C20 sash windows with glazing bars in stone
surrounds. Extension has blocked doorways now casement windows. Dovecote has
C20 door and external stone steps to loft doorway. C20 casement windows.
Round-headed recess in the gable has pigeon holes. Former barn has large
central cart entrance. C20 casement windows on 2 levels. Listed partly for
G.V. with Blaithwaite House.
