1/23 Stable about 20 metres south of
- Luney Barton Farmhouse

GV II

Stable. Early - mid C18 with few later alteations. Elvan stone rubble with granite
dressings and quoins. Rag slate roof with crested ridge tiles and gable ends.
Plan: Rectangular 5-bay front stable with loft over. Attached to front left is a
long single storey shed in stone rubble with slate roof with gable ends.
Exterior: 2 storeys, a symmetrical 5-bay front on dressed granite plinth with granite
quoins and band course. Ground floor has central doorway with granite voussoirs, 2
windows with granite voussoirs to right and left. Some windows have 3 upper panes
remaining, probably originally sashes. At first floor there are five smaller window
openings with granite voussoirs. Attached to front left is a single storey range,
partly blocking the window at ground floor to left; this had door and window
openings.
Rest of the stable not accessible at time of survey (August 1987).
Luney Barton Farmhouse is not included.
