Cottage. Late C17 block formerly converted for use as garage, now art gallery; extended to south. Later
alterations. Slobbered rubble with quoins to extension. Graduated slate roofs
with stone-flagged eaves to garage. Built at right-angles to road; outshut and
wing, with C19 gallery, to rear. 2 storeys, 7 bays overall (4:3). C20 doors in
south return and on north side of wing, under gallery; plank door in chamfered
surround to rear of garage, under gallery. East elevation: 2 inserted garage
doors to right-hand block; three 2-light (one originally 3-light) windows, with
chamfered mullions, and a single-light, all casements in chamfered surrounds, to
left-hand block. A 2-light window, with flat mullion, and 2 single lights, all
casements in chamfered surrounds, to 1st floor right; 2 sashes and a tripartite
sash, all with glazing bars, to left. Projecting stair, semicircular in plan,
and small 1st-floor casement, with chamfered semicircular-headed surround, to
rear of garage; flat-roofed dormer to rear of left-hand block. Stone mid and
end chimneys. Linked to Scar Cottage on west side by wing and gallery.
