Row of 4 cottages of various dates: No.1 dated 1871, with initials C. & R.D.,
on shield above door although this may refer to later remodelling as building is
shown on 1838 tithe map; no.2 probably late C18/early C19. Nos. 3 & 4 probably
late C17, originally of 2 low storeys, roof raised early/mid C19. Coursed
squared rubble with quoins. Graduated slate roof. 2 storeys. Nos. 1, 2, & 4
are all symmetrical, 3 bays: Central door with window to either side on each
floor. No.3 two bays: Door to left, window to each floor on right. Dressed
stone surrounds to all openings; windows to no.2 are C20 casements, all others
are sashes with glazing bars. Brick mid and end chimneys. Included for group
value.
