Description


ROCHESTER ST MARGARET ' S TQ 7468 SW STREET 9/226 No 40 (Wellesley House) GV II House. Mid C19. Red brick with fine lime mortar pointing; roof material not visible. Double depth plan, lateral stacks to left, the stairs to rear, left. 3 storeys and basement. Front: tall 3-window range; regular paired sash windows to each floor, left; single sash window to each floor above entrance, right. All with sills on brackets, under cambered arches, the sashes of 2 panes and horned. Doorway with stucco surround (panelled pilasters, moulded cornice on console brackets, round-headed arch with keyblock). Deeply recessed half glazed door under fanlight. Extensive rear build with sash windows; round-headed stair light. Included for group value.
