MATTERDALE DOCKRAY NY 32 SE 5/158 Hollins Farmhouse and barn -

- II Farmhouse and barn. Court cupboard dated 1736 but house possible earlier, later additions and alterations. Roughcast and limewashed stone rubble, slate roofs. Long low building with house to eastern end. South elevation of house of 2 storeys and 2 bays. Ground floor has top-hung casements with vertical glazing bars; 1st floor has small windows with pivoted upper panes; inserted window to 1st bay. Entrance with C20 door to 2nd bay; cross-axial stack and large squat gable-end stack. Barn to west, small light to eastern end. Last gable end is recessed to right of stack with dripcourses. North elevation has outshut under catslide roof with windows with small-paned fixed glazing and gabled wing with pivoted casement to right return. Entrance and casement window to west. Barn has stable entrance, barn entrance with paired doors, gabled wing with stable door, pitching hole and return outshut under catslide roof, with 6-fielded-panel door, probably from house, end stable door and small window. Interior of house has plain court cupboard inscribed: "DS 1736" with later cupboards to side and above. Barn has triangular trusses.
