GV II

Small house at end of row, adjoining chapel forecourt. Mid C19, doorcase
earlier, probably from elsewhere. Smooth rendered, slate roof. Two storeys,
1 window; left, at each floor a 16-pane sash in moulded architrave with ears and
haunches set to stone cill on small brackets. To right an elaborate fluted
Roman Doric portico with entablature and bold double-scroll broken pediment and
a central fluted colonnette to acorn top. Good 6-panel fielded door, panelled
reveals; this all set to extreme right side of front. Paired brackets to eaves,
channelled pilaster, left, returned to gable which has two elliptical-headed
openings at first floor; that to left is blank, and to right has 12-pane sash.
Plinth, dying to pavement; gable stack to left, decorative ridge cresting. The
building is not square but has acute-angled outer corner, aligning with
off-square plot boundary.
