I took this in in late summer,1953, on a "Box Brownie".The large trees behind the farm were 100 year elms. running along "Elm Avenue", the original coach road. My father had to remove them as they were hollow, thus unsafe. At the far right, and below the road. was the Elizabethan? walled garden which the Davids have subsequntly upgraded. I had a raspberry patch there in my grammar school boy days!. From a close-up photo of the sundial and window structure above I now know about "ashlar voussoirs". New knowledge .!
