House, at the end of a row. Probably late C18. Granite rubble ground storey,
light scantling timber frame above all roughcast. Thatched roof, gabled at left
end and half-hipped at right end. Slate leanto roofs at right-hand end and rear.
Rendered chimneystacks, one at left gable end, the other at rear now within leanto
outshut.
2 room plan with central entrance, each room with rear lateral fireplace and
service rooms in 2 storey rear leanto outshut. Extended half a bay to right with
leanto roof.
2 storeys and attic. 3 window range. Circa late C18 or early C19 12-pane sashes
in exposed cases. Only one central attic window with 6 panes, probably a fixed
light window. Late C19 flush panel and glazed door in plain opening near centre.
The eaves at right-hand end one lower where there is a slate roof leanto.
Interior: 2 blocked fireplaces on rear walls of front rooms which is now 1 large
room having had the partitions removed. Original roof trusses with collars halved
and pegged to the face of the principals.
The largely unaltered front with sash windows and thatched roof make this building
an important element in the street.
