GV II

Lodge to Whitwell Hall (q.v.). Probably 1835 by Pritchard and Watson, with C20
addition. Limestone ashlar, Westmorland slate. Cruciform plan with addition to rear.
1 storey, 3 bays. Central projecting gabled bay with octagonal angle turrets and 5-
light straight-headed window. Blank shield in gable. To left: 2-light pointed window.
To right: elliptical-headed board door. Diagonal buttresses. Gable coping and kneelers
to side wings. Stack to rear.
