THORNTON WATLASS SE 28 NW 3/107 Gateway approximately 150 metres to south of Thornton Watlass Hall 22.8.66 - II Pair of gatepiers, 2 end piers, gates and railings. C18. Ashlar and rubblestone with wrought-iron gates. Gatepiers flanked by railings with end piers. All piers are rusticated on plinths with friezes, cornices and blocking courses and are surmounted by reeded urns. Double-gates have a plain lock rail and dogbars with fleur-de-lys finials. A low rubblestone wall with chamfered coping connects end and gatepiers and supports railings with bars and fleur-de-lys finials.
