Village pump in ornamental cover. c1870. Ashlar magnesian limestone.
Cover: square base with octagonal turret and spirelet; in Gothic Revival
style. Base has miniature buttresses to front and rear and later stone
platform on right; from ½-pyramidal corners rises the turret with cusped 1-
light openings in front and rear having eroded shafts in the jambs and
hoodmoulds; sides are pierced by quatrefoils. Hollow cornice with carved
florets. Spirelet with trefoils to lucarnes on 4 sides; crocketed finial.
Interior: flywheel and gearing to pump mechanism in disrepair at time of
resurvey (1987).
