Rose Cottage and attached outbuilding

II

House and attached outbuilding. Early-mid C18, altered. Red brick and rubble limestone partly roughcast, pantile roof. L-shaped plan, the outbuilding with later outshut. Two storeys, 1 : 3 windows to first floors on inside angle. House on tofu panelled door to left of a two-light horizontally-sliding sash with glazing bars with boarded door beyond; offset beneath central first-floor window as ground floor.

Outbuilding on right: boarded door to left of a two-light horizontally-sliding bash with glazing bars, three similar windows to first floor. Each range has cogged eaves courses, shaped kneelers and ashlar gable copings; brick ridge stack to house. Rear of house: rubblestone panels incorporated in lower part of wall.

Interior not inspected.

Rebuilding of an earlier structure probably indicated by rubble walling to rear and offset in front wall of house.
