Section of wall. Probably mid C18. Coursed rubble limestone with thin slab copings. Straight wall approximately 3 metres in height and 50 metres in length with 6-panel door in quoined architrave and tripartite keystone to lintel near west end. Another doorway on left has board door in plain ashlar surround with lintel dated '1881'. Relic of the landscape scheme of Kiveton Park built from 1698 for the Dukes of Leeds. James Gibbs prepared measured drawings of the house and this wall with its quoined architrave in his style may be associated with him.

Included for group value.

John Harris, William Talman: Maverick Architect, 1982, pp 25-26 and plates 14 and 17.
