Shown on OS map as Stark Hill Farm. Small detached cottage. Early C18, some
C20 modification. Rubble limestone, slate roof to coped gables with cross-roll
saddles. 2½ storeys, 3 windows; partly built directly off rock at right hand
end. Entrance front has 2-light stone casement and 2 small stair lights, and a
C20 lean-to porch with door and large dormer window. Opposite front has at
ground floor a 2-light recessed chamfer casement to stopped hood, 6-panel flush
door in chamfered surround, deep plain lintel and hood and a C20 door in former
window opening. First floor has 2:1:2-light recessed chamfer with hoods and 2
roof laylights. Left gable has 2 over 2 over 2-light recessed chamfer mullions
with hoods, and similar to right gable. Central ashlar stack. Interior not
seen.
