Summerhouse. Early C19. Rubble stone containing fossilized
material and small amounts of semi precious stones, not quarried
locally. Cotswold stone slate roof. Square with 3 lancet arches
to front, side 2 smaller and blind with parapet wall above. 2 open
arches at side and at rear a pointed niche formerly containing a
chimney whose stack is on rear wall with pyramidal stone cowl.
Reputed to have been used by the poet Gilbert White and formerly
on land owned by Barton Abbotts (q.v.).
