SU 00 NE EDMONDSHAM -

6/16 Romford Mill and
Millhouse

II

Mill and attached millhouse, probably early C19. English bond brickwork with
slate roofs, mill being half-hipped. Brick stacks in various locations. 2
storeys and attic. Mill has 2-light timber casements under segmental brick
heads. Plank stable door to left. Further plank doors to each floor in gable
wall. House has 4-pane sashes, those to the ground floor being under
segmental brick heads. Part glazed door in re-entrant angle. Some C20
refenestration to rear.

Internally much of the mill machinery remains. This includes the remains of a
breast-shot waterwheel, hursting, gearing, mill stones and hoists. (R.C.H.M.
